STRUZAN BLOCKING: TOP NOTCH
The Struzan studies continue! I wanted to study more of Struzan’s blocking and the comp of Big Trouble in Little China by Struzan caught my eye with how he made the top of the composition a “V”. I got curious and wanted to see if this was a theme and what the effect was.
After looking through examples of what I’m calling the Struzan Top Notch, it seems to have the effect of adding some negative space around or above the main character and/or creating a downward arrow to the composition.
